Welcome to the Montgomery Development Education Centre (MDEC) website. MDEC is an Aberdeen based organisation, covering the whole of the North-East of Scotland. We are the education section of Aberdeen for a Fairer World (formerly the Third World Centre). The Centre is part of the International Development Education Association of Scotland (IDEAS). This is a network of over 40 organisations and individuals involved in Development Education and Education for Global Citizenship/Sustainable Development Education across Scotland.

New Stride Available

The Autumn / Winter edition of Stride is now available and should have been delivered to schools.  If you have not yet received your copy of Stride, download a PDF version from Stride School Partnership or visit the Montgomery Centre.


Global Schools Workshop - Postponed

The one day Building Effective Partnerships workshop planned for 10 November 2010 has been postponed.

It is hoped that the workshop will now be run in early 2011.

Fair Trade network meetings for teachers

Come along to one of our twilight sessions to explore fair trade resources and share good practice with other teachers. Two sessions are available this term: Tuesday 23rd November and Wednesday 24th November, 4.00 - 5.30pm at the Montgomery Centre, 79 Queen Street, Aberdeen. Please contact us if you wish to attend. There is no charge for the sessions.

Getting started with Global Citizenship
